Medeama Sporting Club has dropped points at home for the first time since the Ghana Premier League season started after losing 2-1 to Elmina Sharks at the Tarkwa Akoon Community Park on Sunday afternoon.

The home team went into today's encounter with a lot of confidence on the back of an impressive home record of four wins out of four in the ongoing season so far.

After dominating and calling the shots for the first 10 minutes of the match, Medeama Sporting Club finally got the breakthrough on the 14th minute when prolific striker Prince Opoku Agyemang found the back of the net.

After that equalizer, the home team relaxed a bit, allowing Elmina Sharks to come in strong in search of a goal to restore parity. After successive attacks, the efforts of the visitors finally paid off 10 minutes after conceding.

Mustapha Alhaji scored with a fine strike on the 24th minute to ensure his team stayed in the game to go into the first half break on level pegging.

In the second half, a pulsating encounter that ensued between the two teams ended with Benjamin Boateng getting on the scoresheet to hand Elmina Sharks a 2-1 win over Medeama Sporting Club.
