Ahead of the imminent start of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season, it has been confirmed that the Ashanti derby between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Obuasi Ashanti Gold will happen on February 16.
The encounter will be a matchday 8 fixture and will be played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
With bragging rights highly at stake when the fixture comes around, both clubs will be hoping to have gained momentum from their first seven games of the season in order to go into the cracker well prepared.
The Regional rivals have been preparing very well in pre-season and are even among the few favorites being tipped by pundits to eventually lift the enviable Ghana Premier League title.
The last meeting between the Porcupine Warriors and the Miners occurred during the Normalization Committee special competition when the latter beat the former.
Kotoko will hope to change the narrative on February 16 when they host Ashgold at their backyard.
