2019 Viareggio Cup: Berekum Chelsea set to play AC Milan in group opener

Berekum Chelsea U-19 side will face European giants AC Milan in their 2019 Viareggio Cup campaign.

The Ghana Premier League youth side will play AC Milan U-19 side in the 2019 Viareggio Cup opener on Tuesday.

The young Blues lads and second-tier club Nania FC are the only Ghanaian sides participating in this year's edition of the annual Viareggio Cup staged in Italy.

A contingent comprising players, technical and management team arrived in Italy on Sunday evening.

The game will kick-off at 14:00 GMT at the Stadium of Santa Croce.

Berekum Chelsea are Group 7 alongside AC Milan, Carrarese Calcio and AC Spezia.

The Viareggio Cup World Football Tournament Coppa Carnevale is a youth association football tournament held annually in the commune of Viareggio, Italy and its surrounding areas.

Established in 1949, the Torneo di Viareggio is considered one of the most important youth football tournaments in the world.

Since 2009, the Torneo di Viareggio Golden Boy award is given to the best talent in the tournament (including goalkeepers). The player who collects the most votes by a jury composed of sports journalists accompanying the event is the winner.
