2021/22 GHPL: Prosper Narteh warns Asante Kotoko players to step ahead of second round

Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum has warned his players to improve on their performance ahead of the second round of the Ghana Premier League which kicks start on the weekend of February 25.

The Porcupine Warriors picked a point against league champions Hearts of Oak in a goalless draw at the Accra Sports stadium in a matchday seven outstanding fixture on Sunday.

Both teams had decent chances to win the game but Richard Atta pulled some amazing saves to keep Hearts in the game as Asante Kotoko were also saved by the goalpost.

"First round is over. As I always tell my players, you can never satisfy me. Is not about arrogance but as a coach and I see the quality in you I will tell you where you have to be at a certain point," coach Narteh said after the game.

"And I think that there’s a lot in this young gentlemen am working with and they can do better so we have to step up because another seventeen matches are to be played."

"We need to step up so that we stay at the top and make sure that we don’t drop point."

The draw means Asante Kotoko are seven points clear at the top of the League log with 37 points, seven points richer than second-placed Bechem United and will head into the second round of the season with a commanding lead.
