2021 AFCON qualifiers: Ghana coach CK Akonnor impressed with team chemistry ahead of South Africa match

The head coach for the Ghana national team, CK Akonnor has indicated that he has been impressed with the chemistry and team spirit in the camp of the Black Stars ahead of the game against South Africa.

Nicknamed the Black Stars, the West African side will on Thursday, March 25, 2021, take on the Bafana Bafana in a crucial clash in the qualifiers to next year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Having been with his final squad for the encounter in the last three days, Coach CK Akonnor says the mood in the camp is good.

According to the gaffer, all is well and in camp, and players are geared up for the South Africa game.

“The understanding, cohesion, team spirit, and the way they play has been brilliant,” the Ghana coach said in a pre-match interview as quoted on ghanafa.org.

Coach Akonnor continued, “Of course before we got onto the field, we showed them some videos and they embraced the fact that this is what they have to do, work together as a team and play together and they were a delight to watch.

"Seeing them play well in training is exciting and encouraging. I hope that tomorrow they will implement the same spirit and the same understanding of play, once we do that, I believe we will get a good result.

Tomorrow’s top Group C match will be played in Johannesburg and has been scheduled to kick-off at 16:00GMT.
