2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers: GFA put in stringent measures to prevent Covid-19 in Black Stars camp

The Ghana Football Association has put in strict measures to prevent coronavirus cases in the Black Stars camp ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan on Thursday.

This comes after seven players tested positive for the illness after two friendly games staged in Turkey last month after returning to their clubs.

However, ahead of the qualifiers against Sudan, the country's football governing body has tightened protocols at the camp of the players.

Players will wear nose masks at all time while the players sleep separately in the hotel rooms.

There will be no contact with outsiders, while social distancing etiquette is in full force.

However, all players invited will undergo compulsory Covid-19 test before the game on Thursday.

Ghana will play the return encounter in five day time in Khartoum.

Coach C.K Akonnor is seeking to continue with the teams flying start to the qualifiers following victories against South Africa and São Tomé and Principe in November 2019.
