2021 Ghana Premier League: Coach Johnson Smith lauds Kotoko despite Aduana Stars defeat

Published on: 25 January 2021

Interim coach of Asante Kotoko, Johnson Smith, has heaped praise on his players following their impressive performance against Aduana Stars in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Samuel Bio's lone strike in the 73rd minute seal all three points for the defending league champions at the Accra Sports stadium on match day 10.

As a result, the Porcupine Warriors suffered their first home defeat of the season and missed the chance to go top of the league table after leaders Karela United dropped points against Great Olympics on Saturday.

"The boys did well. Whatever I told them to do they did. It's just a game and sometimes you lose," coach Smith said after the game.

"The boy is being bullied so much so we need someone strong who can support Poku because Poku struggles all alone up front."

He added, "I am going to motivate them to boost their morale. They have to forget about this game."

"It's a match that we lost. We should now look forward to other matches."
