Legon Cities aim to get their season off to a great start as they host Berekum Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Royals were disappointing last season, placing 15th on the table with just 16 points in 15 games. Chelsea, in comparison, were second with an impressive 26 points tally.
There is however some hope for the 2016 champions. They have managed to recruit Ghana’s all time topscorer Asamoah Gyan and teenage sensation Matthew Cudjoe ahead of the campaign. They now have the firepower they were lacking in the previous campaign.
In the case of Berekum Chelsea, they lost captain Fuseini to a Spanish lower tier side and Ibrahim Danlad returned to Asante Kotoko after his loan spell last season.
In their last two meetings, the two sides have won one each.
