Newly promoted side Samartex 1996 FC will face Real Tamale United on match week one of the 2022/223 betPawa Premier League on Sunday.
The game is scheduled to kick at 3:00pm at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium where RTU struggled to amass more points last season.
The Tamale based side had to thrash Hearts of Oak 4-1 at the Accra Sports stadium during the final week of the Ghana Premier League to escape relegation.
Samartex, on the other hand, secured promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history after winning Zone Two of the 2021/22 Division One League season.
New head coach Annor Walker will be looking to secure the club's his first ever Premier League game against the Tamale boys.
Both teams signed new players during the transfer window. Samartex signed as many as eight players including former Hearts of Oak duo Larry Sumaila Ibrahim and Richard Baidoo.
RTU also made eight signings including Abdul Manaf Umar and Hafiz Adams.

Player to Watch: Larry Sumaila Ibrahim has a lot to prove after leaving Hearts of Oak at the end of his contract.
Predicted Scoreline: 1-1 RTU have been poor at home and a well organised Samartex team led by erpierbeced coach Annor Walker should see the newcomers secure a point.
