2022/23 Ghana Premier League: Week 12 Match Preview – King Faisal vs Hearts of Oak

Published on: 10 January 2023

Hearts of Oak will be looking to pick back-to-back victories when they take on King Faisal at Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday in a 2022/23 Ghana Premier League week 12 clash.

The game will kick off at 6:00 PM and will be live on StarTimes.

Hearts of Oak will be without key players like Gladson Awako, Konadu Yaidom, Dennis Korsah, and Suraj Seidu, who are with the Black Galaxies preparing for the 2022 CHAN in Algeria.

The Pobians are coming into the game on the back of a hard-fought 3-2 win over Tamale City while the In Sha Allah lads earned a valuable point away at Bechem United after a 1-1 draw.

The Hunters shocked Hearts of Oak 2-1 away at Cape Coast Stadium in week eleven before being held by the Kumasi-based side at home.

The two teams are at different ends of the league log. The 21-time Ghanaian champions are second with 19 points, with King Faisal lying on the 13th spot with 13 points.

King Faisal have only lost one of their last six matches, lost and drew one game each, racking up four wins. Hearts of Oak recorded three wins, two draws, and one loss in their last six league games.

The In Sha Allah side won their last three home games at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium; a streak they would be looking to hold on to.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak have also won their previous three games on the road.

In the recent 11 meetings between King Faisal and Hearts of Oak, the Phobians have avoided defeat in 10 of those games.
