2022/23 Ghana Premier League Week 19: Karela United v Accra Lions preview

Published on: 28 February 2023

The 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season will continue in midweek with some exciting fixtures in Week 19.

There were no league games last weekend to pave way for the MTN FA Cup Round of 16.

In midweek, all 18 participating clubs are scheduled to be in action at the various match venues.

On Wednesday, March 1, Karela United will play host to Accra Lions in a game to be played at Anyinase.

Form:

Despite being one of the strongest sides in the past, Karela United are now struggling in the Ghana Premier League.

The team this season has been unable to compete and could be engaged in a battle for survival soon if things do not change.

In the last five matches of Karela United, the team has lost three games and managed to win the other two.

For the visitors, Accra Lions have done far better in the ongoing season. The team from the capital is 5th on the league table. Having lost just one game in the last five games, the team is confident of securing a win away from home in midweek.

Predicted scoreline:

While Karela United will be enjoying home advantage, the team cannot get carried away. Accra Lions will be the better side on the matchday due to how well the team keeps possession. A draw looks likely though.

Karela United 1-1 Accra Lions.
