2022/23 Ghana Premier League Week 24: King Faisal v Karela United preview

Published on: 28 March 2023

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that there will be Premier League action in midweek.

Accordingly, the Ghanaian top-flight league will enter Week 24 with games scheduled to be played on Wednesday, March 29, and Thursday, March 30.

On Wednesday, one of the matches that will be played in the Ghana Premier League will be the clash between King Faisal and Karela United.

Form Guide:

The home team, King Faisal have struggled all season and are currently battling relegation.

With just 25 points after playing 23 matches in the ongoing campaign, the team based in Kumasi is in the relegation zone and risks dropping into the Division One League at the end of the season.

In the team’s last five matches, it recorded just one win, drawing two, and losing the other two.

A week 23 defeat to Kotoku Royals saw the sacking of head coach Jimmy Cobblah.

Now up against Karela United in midweek, King Faisal must fight for a win to climb out of the relegation zone.

The visiting team has not been good this season as well. The side from Anyinase is just four points away from the red zone and equally needs the point from this game.

Karela United in the last five games have won two matches, lost two, and drawn the other one.

Motivated by a 3-0 win over Hearts of Oak just last weekend, the team will be aiming to brush aside poor King Faisal.

Predicted scoreline:

Following that big win against Hearts of Oak, there is confidence in the camp of Karela United under new head coach Evans Adotey.

The team should at least secure a narrow win against King Faisal on Wednesday.

King Faisal 1-3 Karela United.
