2022/23 Ghana Premier League: Week 27 Match Preview- Great Olympics vs Tamale City

Published on: 21 April 2023

Great Olympics will play their first home game at the WAFA Park in Sogakope after receiving approval from the Ghana FA to play their remaining home games at the said venue.

The two-time Ghana Premier League winners are enduring a very tough season as they currently find themselves in the relegation drop.

On Sunday, the Dade boys will welcome Tamale City in matchday 27 of the domestic top-flight.

Bismark Kobi Mensah’s side will be hoping that the change of venue will not negatively affect their performances and that they can continue to compete at their best level to avoid relegation.

Great Olympics have failed to impress in their last five games in the league, losing three, drawing one and winning one in the process.

They will hope to defeat Tamale City to return to winning ways after losing narrowly to log leaders, Aduana Stars last weekend.

The Accra-based club are currently 17th on the league standings with 31 points after 26 matches.

With eight games to end the campaign, Olympics will approach this game with all seriousness, knowing a win against Tamale City could move them out of the drop considering the point gap between teams.

Meanwhile, Hamza Mohammed’s outfit will not be an easy nut to crack in this encounter.

They will hope to maintain their winning run against Great Olympics having inflicted a 2-1 win over them in the first half of the season.

Tamale City have not fared bad in their last five games, winning three, drawing one and losing one in the process.

Referee Mathew Ayisu will be in charge when Great Olympics takes on Tamale City in the much-anticipated clash.
