Medeama SC scored two quick first-half goals to beat Bechem United 2-1 and cut Aduana FC's lead at the top of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League to two points.

The win at the Akoon Park on Monday afternoon in the Ghana Premier League Match Week 30 game means the Yellow and Mauves have overtaken their visitors to second place with 50 points.

It leaves the Hunters in third place with 48 points, four points behind Aduana.

Attacker Jonathan Sowah opened the scoring after just 17 minutes into the game, giving the hosts an early 1-0 lead.

Augustine Evans Adotey's side doubled their lead 32 minutes in through Vincent Atingah, putting the game beyond Kassim Mingle's men.

Francis Acquah pulled one back for the visitors in the 78th minute, but it was not enough to get Bechem United back into the game.

Medeama held on to secure a vital win, making the Ghana Premier League title race even tighter after 30 rounds with four games to go.
