2022/23 Ghana Premier League Week 30: Tamale City drags King Faisal into relegation zone after demolishing exercise

Tamale City kicked off Week 30 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League season with a 4-0 thumping victory over King Faisal on Saturday afternoon.

With just a few games to end the 2022/23 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign, both teams went into today’s game knowing that losing will leave them in the relegation zone at the end of the matchday.

As a result, both teams set up strong determined to secure a win at all cost,

Unfortunately, for King Faisal, the team could not match up with the quality of Tamale City today.

In a game played at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, the hosts scored three times in the first half to blow away the Visiting team.

Tamale City first took the lead in the 3rd minute through Sammy Osei Akoto. Later in the half, goals from Sampson Eduku in the 14th and 32nd minutes respectively made things Herculean for King Faisal.

After recess, King Faisal attempted to fight to get back into the game but it was not meant to be.

An equalizer from Godknows Jakpasu in the 54th minute sealed a massive 4-0 win for Tamale City to send the team to 10th on the Ghana Premier League standings.

After today’s defeat, King Faisal have been dragged into the relegation zone.
