2022/23 Ghana Premier League Week 4: Match Report – Tamale City 1-1 RTU

The Tamale Derby between Tamale City and Real Tamale United ended 1-1 at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Monday afternoon.

In the early exchanges, Tamale City and Real Tamale United battled to control the midfield. Real Tamale United's star attacker David Abagna got a chance to break the deadlock but fired wide in the 33rd minute.

Real Tamale United made an early substitution in the 39th minute. Abdul Fatawu was replaced by M. Hidir as RTU continued to search for a goal.

Hafiz Adams low cross was converted by Baba Kushibo to give Real Tamale United the lead.

Real Tamale United's lead did not last long. The referee whistled for a penalty in favor of City in the 44th minute. Isaac Mensah stepped up and cooly converted the penalty to make it 1-1.

After halftime, Tamale City and Real Tamale United struggled to find the back of the net. The referee whistled for full time and the match ended 1-1.

Tamale City is currently 17th in the league with 1 point after four games while Real Tamale United is 16th with 2 points after four games.

City will play Dreams FC in their next Ghana Premier League game while RTU will take on Berekum Chelsea.
