2022 African Cup of Nations qualifiers: Eugene Ansah excluded after poor showing in international friendlies

Published on: 30 October 2020

Hapoel Shmona forward, Eugene Ansah, has been excluded from the Black Stars squad for the double header against Sudan.

Ansah was given a starting berth against Mali earlier in October but was disappointing on the day. He was taken off inside just 41 minutes in favor of Kamaldeen Sulemana. The team lost 3-0.

On the day, he looked lost and failed to offer anything to the team. CK Akonnor did not play him during the 5-1 victory against Qatar. Tariqe Fosu started on the left flank and put in an impressive showing.

Ansah has made two appearances in the Israeli Premier League this season and scored one goal.
