2022 CHAN: I thank God for everything - Annor Walker after Black Galaxies defeat to Niger

Annor Walker says he thanks God for whatever has happened following Ghana's elimination at the ongoing 2022 African Nations Championship [CHAN].

The Black Galaxies suffered a 2-0 defeat against Niger in their quarterfinal game staged on Saturday at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium.

An own goal from Ghana defender Konadu Yiadom in the 11th minute and a sublime finish by Soumana Hainokye Boubacar secured the win for Niger.

Speaking in the post-game interview, the veteran tactician was left in utter shock and struggled to find words to describe his team’s poor showing in the game.

“Seriously I don’t know what to say because I am short of words. It is a very big blow losing this match but everything that God does is good,” he said.

The Black Galaxies progressed from Group C in second place after losing 1-2 to Madagascar, beating Sudan 3-1 and gaining three extra points over Morocco after the North African nation withdrew late from the tournament.

The playing body and the technical team are expected to arrive in the country later today.

Niger plays host nation Algeria in the semifinals on Tuesday, January 31 at 16:00 GMT.
