Board Chairman of the National Sports Authority Hon. Seth Panwum also backed the team to show their qualities when they come up against their Sudanese counterparts on Thursday at the 2022 African Nations Championship [CHAN].

Ghana must win to book a place in the next round of the tournament.

The Black Galaxies opened their campaign with a 2-1 defeat against debutant Madagascar in their Group C opener on Sunday.

Ahead of the game at the Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoui in Constantine, Mr Panwum said the defeat against Madagascar was disappointing but has backed the players to stay focused adding that they can still win the tournament.

“The game on Sunday wasn’t our best," he said as reported by the Ghana FA following his visit to the team's camp.

"Following your training tour and friendlies, we were all confident on Sunday but we were unfortunate to lose.

“Going into Thursday know that you can win and go ahead to become champions of this competition.

"Put Sunday’s games behind you and know that the nation has not given up on you," he added.

The game has been scheduled to kick off at 19:00GMT.
