2022 FIFA WCQ: I have a strong believe that Ghana will beat Nigeria – Ex-Black Stars goalkeeper William Amamoo

Former Black Stars goalkeeper William Amamoo is highly optimistic Ghana will beat Nigeria in the first leg tie of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification play-offs.

Ghana will host Nigeria at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 25 before travelling to Abuja for the second leg at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on March 29, 2022.

The winner of the tie will represent the continent at the World football showpiece which is scheduled to take place from November 21 to December 18, 2022 in Qatar.

"Matches between Ghana and Nigeria doesn’t follow form guide and because of that I have a strong believe that Ghana will beat Nigeria," Amamoo told Top FM.

"Ghana and Nigeria games are just like that of Hearts of Oak SC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC, though Kotoko were in a great form, they couldn’t beat struggling Hearts and that gives me the Believe that Ghana will win on 25th by all means."

He added, "Ghana must beat Nigeria heavily here in Ghana in the first leg to make the second in Nigeria a mere formality just as we did in 2014 against Egypt when we beat them 6-1 here before the second game in Cairo."
