Nigeria midfielder Joe Ariboo is likely to miss his side's final play-offs of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ghana later this month due to injury.

According to Rangers manager, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, the Super Eagles midfielder may not play the crucial game.

Ghana will take on Nigeria at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 25 in the first leg before travelling to Abuja for the return leg on March 29.

"Physically it was a tough match, we have some concerns after the game with John Lundstram, some problems with his ankle," Van Bronckhorst said at a pre-match press conference

"And we had to take Aribo off as well so we are assessing them today and tomorrow to see if they are able to be involved on Sunday."

The winner of the tie will represent the continent at the World football showpiece which is scheduled to take place from November 21 to December 18, 2022, in Qatar.

Aribo has been a key cog of interim boss Augustine Eguavoen’s team, starting three of the four matches played by the Super Eagles at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
