2022 FIFA World Cup: Ghana coach Otto Addo to face a tactical battle from Fernando Santos, Diego Alonso, and Paulo Bento

Published on: 21 October 2022

The head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars, Otto Addo will be at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in November as his first major tournament after taking up coaching.

The retired footballer accepted to coach the Ghana national team early this year after the team’s horrific showing at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Subsequently, he guided the Black Stars to see off the Super Eagles of Nigeria to book a place at the world cup.

Although he does not have the experience, he has shown that he is technically good.

At the 2022 FIFA World Cup, however, he will come up against some of the top managers in the world.

The biggest test for Coach Otto Addo will be evident when Ghana takes on Portugal in the opening Group H match.

The gaffer must counter the tactics of veteran tactician Fernando Santos.

The Portugal coach has been to multiple international tournaments including the world cup and Euro tournaments.

Otto Addo will also need to neutralise the tactics of Diego Alonso, and Paulo Bento who are in charge of Uruguay and South Korea respectively.
