2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers: Group G standings ahead of Ghana v Ethiopia showdown

The senior national team, the Black Stars return to action later this afternoon in their matchday 5 games of the 202 Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia.

The four-time African champions will be hosted at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg. The game has been scheduled to kick off at 13:00GMT.

With South Africa sitting on top of Group G with 10 points, the Black Stars sit 2nd with 9 points.

Milovan Rajevac and his charges will need to beat Ethiopia and their last group fixture against Bafana Bafana to secure a place in the playoffs.

Ahead of the showdown, Hugo Broos' men sit on top of the log with Ghana trailing by a point.

Ethiopia sit 3rd with 3 points with Zimbabwe sitting on the bottom with just a point.

The Black Stars are seeking to return to the Mundial having missed out in the last edition hosted in Russia in 2018.

Ghana played in the 2006, 2010 and 2014 in Germany, South Africa and Brazil respectively.

The Black Stars will host South Africa at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday, November 14 in the final Group G games.

Milovan Rajevac will pocket $300,000 should steer the team to book a qualification for the Mundial next year.
