2022 World Cup: Dan Owusu reveals his biggest Black Stars headache ahead of tournament

Former Ghana international, Dan Owusu is certain the Black Stars will perform at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar but remain worried over the lack of team cohesion.

The West African country will be making its fourth appearance at the world's biggest football tournament in Qatar having missed out on the last edition hosted in Russia in 2018.

The Black Stars who are seeking to put up an improved performance will come up against Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay for the tournament that has been scheduled to kick off from November 20 to December 18.

Owusu speaking in an interview admitted that he is elated with the country's qualification to the global showpiece but he is worried about the lack of cohesion.

According to him, most of the players are new and will not help in the cohesion.

"For me, I am delighted we qualified for the World Cup,” he told GNA.

“I believe the unity among Ghanaians would help propel the team to greater heights at the World Cup.

"My little concern is about team cohesion, considering that most of these players have not played together for long,” he added.

Ghana will open camp on November 10 in Abu Dhabi. Otto Addo will announce his final 26-man squad on November 14 before taking on Switzerland on November 17.
