2022 World Cup: Ghana plans revenge against Uruguay with new squad

With a newly assembled squad, Ghana plans vengeance on the Uruguay team that controversially prevented them from progressing in 2010.

Ghana will also attempt to become the first African country to reach the World Cup semi-finals.

The goal-bound shot by Dominic Adiyiah that would have advanced Ghana was brilliantly stopped by Luis Suarez. Although Suarez was dismissed, Asamoah Gyan's penalty attempt hit the crossbar. La Celeste eventually prevailed in the game on penalties.

After a poor sowing at the 33rd Afcon the Black Stars secured a ticket for the World Cup.

Ghana since added new players to the squad namely Iñaki Williams, Ransford Yeboah, Mohammed Salisu, and Tariq Lamptey.

Ghana is in group H with Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea.

Portugal will take on Ghana on November 24th which will be the first game in group H.
