2022 World Cup: Opponents cannot underrate Ghana - FA boss Kurt Okraku

Published on: 27 September 2022

Kurt Okraku, the president of the Ghana Football Association [GFA] has said Black Stars' opponents in the World Cup will not underestimate the West African country.

After beating Nigeria on away goal rule in the playoffs, Ghana have been housed in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay.

The Black Stars have not been convincing after losing to Brazil in an international over the weekend.

However, Mr. Okraku believes opponents are fully aware Ghana cannot be taken for granted.

"The group is not easy, there are very good teams, but Ghana is not an easy rival either," he told deia.eus.

Ghana will open their campaign against Portugal on November 24 at Stadium 974 in Doha.

Four days later, the Black Stars return to action with a clash with South Korea at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.

Ghana will wrap up their group stage adventure with their much-anticipated encounter with Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars will continue their preparations of the Mundial when they play Nicaragua later tonight in their second international friendly with kick-off scheduled at 18:00GMT.
