Four players have been handed a national team call-up to play for the Black Stars for the first.

They include AS Roma forward Felix Afena-Gyan, Denis Odoi, Elisha Owusu, and Dennis Korsah.

The debutants have this season played various roles for the respective clubs and are now set to taste national team football in Ghana colours.

They have been handed the Black Stars call-up by interim Ghana head coach Otto Addo ahead of the final round of the Africa qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament.

In the playoff, Ghana has been drawn to battle with sworn rivals Nigeria. The Black Stars must hence overcome the Super Eagles over the course of two legs to secure a place at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament scheduled to be staged in Qatar.

Today, the squad list of Ghana has been released after the long delay by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Besides Felix Afena-Gyan, Dennis Korsah, Denis Odoi, and Elisha Owusu who are making their debuts, familiar faces Thomas Partey, Daniel Amartey, Andy Yiadom, and several other top players are set to arrive in the country by close of day to commence preparation for the upcoming two-legged tie against Nigeria.

Ghana will host the first leg of the encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, March 25, 2022, before travelling to Abuja for the reverse fixture on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
