2022 World Cup playoffs: Goalkeeper Richard Ofori confident of win against Nigeria ahead of second leg trip

Goalkeeper Richard Ofori believes the Black Stars can still beat Nigeria at their own turf to book a qualification for the World Cup.

The Black Stars in the first leg of the playoff games hosted Nigeria at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday night.

Despite creating chances, the Black Stars were held to a goalless drawn game against their rivals, the Super Eagles.

With the second leg scheduled on Tuesday, March 29 at the Abiola National Stadium, the Orlando Pirate shot-stopper is confident the Black Stars are still capable of a win in Abuja.

“The guys did well, this is basically a new team, a lot of things have changed when you compare the performance of the AFCON to tonight’s display, hopefully, we will win the second leg," he said after the game.

The playing body together with the technical team will depart for Abuja on Monday morning.

Ghana are chasing their fourth global showpiece appearance having missed out in the last edition in Russia in 2018.
