2022 World Cup playoffs: Suspended Andre Ayew arrives in Kumasi to support Black Stars against Nigeria

Black Stars captain, Andre Dede Ayew has arrived in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi to support his teammates against the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Friday.

The Al Sadd forward is not part of the squad for the two crucial games due to suspension.

The 32-year-old was sent off in Ghana's final round of game against Comoros in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nation [AFCON] in Cameroon.

Despite not being eligible for the two games against Nigeria, the FIFA U-20 World Cup winner will offer support to the team in their quest to play in the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Andre was spotted alongside Nana Yaa Brefo of Angel at the Kumasi airport.

The Black Stars of Ghana will host the Super Eagles at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Friday, March 25, 2022, in a bid to return to the Mundial after missing out on the 2018 edition in Russia.

The return game has been scheduled to be played at the Abiola National Stadium on Tuesday, March 29.

Both teams have arrived in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi as they prepare for the big game on Friday with the prize of qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
