2022 World Cup qualifiers: Ghana don't deserve to play in Qatar next year if we can't beat Ethiopia - Kwabena Yeboah

President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana [SWAG], Kwabena Yeboah, says the Black Stars must beat Ethiopia if the team want to play in Mundial next year in Qatar.

The Black Stars will engage the Walias on Thursday in South Africa in the penultimate Group G of the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers in the matchday 5 games.

Ghana needs to beat Ethiopia to put pressure on South Africa, who are group leaders before the final showdown in Cape Coast on Sunday.

"I am not expecting anything less than total victory against Ethiopia. I have made this point and I am not being cynical that if we can't beat Ethiopia, there is absolutely no reason to go to the World Cup Cup because, no disrespect to Ethiopia, they are one of the weakest side on the continent," said Kwabena Yeboah to Citi Sports.

The Black Stars are a point behind the Bafana Bafana and a win will mean they have the final game in Ghana to decide the winner of the group.

Ghana missed the 2018 World Cup in Russia and are hoping to make a return in Qatar 2022.

The game has been scheduled to kick off at 13:00GMT.
