2022 World Cup qualifiers: Ghana to be boosted by Alexander Djiku return for South Africa clash

Ghana will be boosted by the return of defender, Alexander Djiku ahead of Black Stars final group game against South Africa.

The four-time African champions will host Bafana Bafana at the Cape Coast Stadium in the matchday 6 games of the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers on Sunday.

The Strasbourg centre back was out of action against Ethiopia in the matchday five games played at the Orlando Stadium on Thursday, a game that the Black Stars pick a point instead of a win.

Djiku was suspended for the game having picked accumulated yellow cards in the ongoing qualifiers.

However, with Ghana searching for a win to qualify for the playoffs of the Mundial, the composed and experienced defender will return to the squad for the game against Hugo Broos' men on Sunday.

Ghana need a win having lost two points against Ethiopia. The Black Stars sit 2nd with 10 points with South Africa sitting on top of the log with 13 points having beaten Zimbabwe 1-0 on Thursday evening at the FNB Stadium.

The final Group G game has been scheduled to kick off at 19:00GMT.
