2022 World Cup: Tunisia can compete against big nations - Wahbi Khazri

Published on: 08 November 2022

Tunisia captain Wahbi Khazri is confident his side can compete with the best nations ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The North African country has been drawn in Group B alongside, current champions France, Denmark and Australia.

France and Denmark have been tipped to glide through to the last 16. The 2004 African champions have never made it out of the group stage in their last five World Cup finals appearances.

"We can compete against big nations with a fluid game based on ball passing," the 31-year-old said as quoted by africanews.com.

"I think that the fact that we don't have star players is our strength, we really are a tight group who can compete against big nations."

On Tunisia's group opponent, he added, "Obviously there are no easy groups in the World Cup all groups are difficult, clearly anyone who qualifies to the world deserves to be there. Our chances are positive, and we will compete until the last game"
