Legon Cities opened the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League campaign with a vital victory over Karela United at the El-Wak Stadium.

The Royals produced an amazing second display to secure the three maximum points at stake on Sunday afternoon.

Paa Kwesi Fabin’s outfit rallied from a goal down to seal victory as they got off to a flying start in the Ghanaian top-flight.

Karela United shot into the lead through Kharim Ayeh, who hit the back of the net in the 45th minute as the first half ended in favour of the visitors.

The host uplifted their performance in the second half to merit the three maximum points in the game.

Frank Antwi emerged as the hero for Legon Cities after scoring a brace to propel his side to victory. Antwi scored twice in a space of eight minutes to lead his side to a comeback win in the Ghana Premier League opening day.

Fabin, who joined Legon Cities before the start of the season has started on a good note having secure win in his first game.

Legon Cities finished 9th last season under Maxwell Konadu and are aiming to better their performance this season.
