2023/24 Ghana Premier League week 31: Karela United 2-1 Nsoatreman FC – Report

Karela United have strengthened their chances of avoiding Ghana Premier League relegation following their 2-1 win over Nsoatreman FC on Sunday at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex.

The win in the match week 31 clash means the Pride and Passion lads are now 12th on the league log with 40 points after starting the day in the 14th position.

Nsoatreman have now dropped to sixth on the table with 45th points, one place below the fifth position they started the day on.

Welbeck Takyi opened the scoring for the home side after 16 minutes in the North East Region, sending them into the break with the advantage.

Ten minutes after recess, Maxwell Konadu’s team got the equaliser through Collins Kudjoe, silencing the home crowd.

Karela United restored their lead after just eight minutes when they conceded the equaliser. Captain Mohammed Fatawu scored the winning goal three minutes after the hour mark.

With three games to the end of the season, Karela look set to secure their Ghana Premier League status for next season.
