Berekum Chelsea have gotten their 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign off to a winning start after seeing off Bibiani Gold Stars.
The Bibires scored twice in the second half through Stephen Amankona to win 2-0 at the Golden City Park on Sunday afternoon.
The game came to life later in the second after no goals were scored 70 minutes into the game.
The home side finally found a way to break down the Miners when Stephen Amankona scored with 16 minutes to the end of the game.
The home side was still pushing for a second but Bibiani Gold Stars were also very resistant until stoppage time.
Berekum Chelsea found a second goal in the fifth minute of added time through Stephen Amankona again, who also netted the first goal.
The Bibires will play as guests to Karela United on Saturday, September 23, 2023, in round two of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
For the visiting Bibiani Gold Stars, they will play as hosts to visiting Kumasi Asante Kotoko on the same day.
