The Ghanaian male senior national team, the Black Stars, are gearing up to maintain their unbeaten record against the Palancas Negras of Angola in the upcoming doubleheader in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The two teams are scheduled to play at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Ghana, on March 23, 2023.

The matches are part of the third and fourth rounds of qualifying for next year's AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast. Ghana and Angola are currently leading Group E of the qualifiers, with Ghana occupying the top spot, while Angola is in second place.

As the two sides gear up to face each other, the matches are expected to be crucial in determining which team will lead the group after the international break. Ghana and Angola have previously met twice, with Ghana remaining unbeaten in both matches.

Their first encounter was a goalless draw in an international friendly in 2009, while Ghana claimed a 1-0 victory in the quarterfinals of the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations, thanks to an early strike from Asamoah Gyan.

The Black Stars are expected to go all out to maintain their unbeaten record against the Palancas Negras, as they aim to secure a place in next year's AFCON tournament. Ghana's head coach, Chris Hughton, will be looking to start his reigh on a positive note by securing a positive result against Angola.

The Ghanaian team will be counting on their form in the qualifiers so far, having won once and drew another and have not lost in Kumasi in a very long time. The Black Stars will also rely on the support of their home fans as they aim to extend their lead at the top of Group E.

The Palancas Negras, on the other hand, will be looking to upset the Black Stars and claim their first victory against them. Angola's head coach, Pedro Goncalves, has promised that his team will give their all in the upcoming matches.
