2023 AFCON qualifiers: Central Africa Republic hammer Madagascar 3-0 to put pressure on Ghana

Group E of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers has been blown wide open following results from Round 3 of the group games on Thursday, March 23.

Today, Madagascar hosted the Central Africa Republic as the two national teams fought for a win to amass the three points at stake.

In the end, the visiting team had the win at the end of the 90 minutes.

Two goals from Isaac Ngoma and Louis Mafouta in the 36th and 45th minutes respectively handed the Central Africa Republic a good advantage to take into the break.

After recess, Louis Mafouta netted his second on the day in the 79th minute to seal a delightful 3-0 win for the Central African Republic.

With the win over Madagascar today, the Central Africa Republic are now on four points, the same as the country in second, Angola.

The win also puts pressure on Ghana, the national team on top of the Group E standings of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
