2023 AFCON qualifiers: "Macho men" employed to secure goalpost after Wollacott accident [VIDEO]

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has employed the services of 'macho men" in the Black Stars camp to secure the goalpost at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium at their final session this evening.

The team suffered a setback during training on Tuesday evening, when goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott was hit by a falling goalpost.

The 26-year-old had just recovered from a finger injury that had kept him out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and was visibly in pain as he limped off the field with the help of the medical team.

To prevent a repeat of the situation, the "macho men" in the team mounted the post and pinned it well to the ground.

The Black Stars are set to play the first leg of their double-header against Angola on March 23, with the reverse fixture scheduled for March 27 in Luanda.

Ghana is currently joint top of the Group E table, having secured four points from their last two games, a 3-0 win over Madagascar and a 1-1 draw against the Central African Republic.
