Rwanda coach Carlos Alós Ferrer says his outfit will face difficult when they face reigning champions Senegal in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Rwanda have been placed in Group L together with Senegal, Benin and Mozambique after the draw was held in Johannesburg on Tuesday.

In all, 12 groups consisting of four teams each will be competing against each other home and away with the top two sides set to qualify to AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast.

“We already know our path to the 2023 AFCON. Now it’s time to work with enthusiasm and ambition,” said Ferrer.

“I trust that we shall have our chances."

"We shall fight till the last game. I promise that this team will fight and compete,” added Ferrer who holds a UEFA Pro coaching license.

Rwanda have only played at the 2004 AFCON which was held in Tunisia. They also reached the quarter final stage of the African Nations Championship in 2016 when they hosted and 2020 in Cameroon.
