2023 Africa Cup of Nations: No Ghanaian player named in CAF Best XI for Group stage

Confederation of African Football has announced the best XI of the first round of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with no Ghana player in the team.

The group stages of the tournament came to an end on last Wednesday with the knockout stage set to commence this weekend.

Mohammed Kudus miss out on the best eleven players after the group stage despite scooping two Man of the Match awards in the two games he played for the Black Stars.

Morocco dominates the team with four players, Achraf Hakimi, Sofian Amrabat, Azzedine Ounahi, and Nayef Aguerd.

Senegal has three players in the team, Kalifou Koulibaly, Ismaila Sarr and Lamine Camara.

Equatorial Guinea are represented by goalkeeper Jesus Owono and striker Emilio Nsue, who has four goals in three games.

Goalkeeper: Jesús Lázaro Owono (Equatorial Guinea)

Defenders: Achraf Hakimi (Morocco), Kalidou Koulibaly (Senegal), Nayef Aguerd (Morocco), Arthur Masuaku (DR Congo)

Midfielders: Sofyan Amrabat (Morocco), Laimine Camara (Senegal), Azzedine Ounahi (Morocco)

Attackers: Gelson Dala (Angola), Emilio Nsue (Equatorial Guinea), Ismaila Sarr (Senegal)
