2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers: Daniel Amartey becomes latest player to join injured players set to miss Ghana v CAR game

Ghana have been dealt with another big blow as Daniel Amartey becomes the latest player to suffer an injury ahead of their game against the Central African Republic (CAR).

The Black Stars will host CAR in their final Group E game at the Baba Yara Stadium on September 7 in their final group game in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Ghana, who sit top of their group need a draw or a win to secure a place in the AFCON tournament that will be hosted in Ivory Coast next year.

Chris Hughton is expected to announce his squad this week and he is likely to be without Amartey.

The Besiktas defender will be sidelined for fourteen days.

Already, RC Lens midfielder, Salis Samed and Anderlecht midfielder, Majeed Ashimeru have been ruled out of the game after suffering injuries over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Andre Ayew, who has been without a club is expected to be named in the Black Stars squad for the game.
