The head coach of South Africa, Hugo Broos has praised the Bafana Bafana for fighting to reach the semi-finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
According to him, it is great that South Africa has reached the semi-final after the struggles of the country's football in recent times.
"Many people in South Africa didn't believe in this team but we believed, and the players believed in themselves.
"Reaching the semi-finals is great for South African football which has struggled in recent years,” Hugo Broos said in his post-match interview after the win over Cape Verde in the quarter-final.
In the semi-finals, South Africa will face off with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
That semi-final clash is scheduled to be played on Wednesday, February 7. Both national teams have prepared and ready to fight for a place in the final.
