Ivorian forward, Max Gradel has heaped praise on the work ethics of the current national team playing at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Against all odds, the Elephants have progressed to the semi-finals of the AFCON on home soil and one step away from getting to the final.

Speaking ahead of the semi-final clash against DR. Congo, Max Gradel said the current generation of players are special just like the last two golden generations.

He said players are poised and want to do their best to make the Ivorian people proud.

“Each generation lives in their time. The golden generation of the two previous editions was special and has their own story. This generation is also special and hard-working. We are also representing our people and want to create our own story.

“We are the same family and even though we are different generations, we are writing the same story and representing the people of Cote d’Ivoire,” Max Gradel said.

Ivory Coast will take on DR Congo on Wednesday, February 7, in the second semi-final game.

The encounter will kick off at 8 pm.
