Amidst a triumphant return to South Africa after their remarkable journey in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, goalkeeper Ronwen Williams reflects on the surreal accomplishments of the Bafana Bafana team.

Receiving a warm welcome from the president of SAFA upon their arrival on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, Williams seized the opportunity to share insights into the team's progress.

Despite falling short of the final, the South African national team, under the guidance of coach Hugo Broos, clinched an admirable third place in the tournament, securing the bronze medal.

“What we have accomplished over the past few weeks still seems unreal to us. We saw all the messages and all the records we broke as a team,” said the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper.

“So I’m proud of the boys for the brotherhood, the brotherhood that we’ve had from day one. The spirit that reigns between us is good. I think that’s one of the reasons for our success: the spirit, the group, the cohesion,” he added.
