2023 African Games: Thursday's final against Nigeria will be a cracker - Black Princesses coach Yusif Basigi

Yusif Basigi, the head coach of Ghana's U20 women's national team, the Black Princesses, believes their 2023 African Games final against Nigeria on Thursday night is going to be a cracker.

Ghana saw off Senegal 3-1 in their final on Monday night to set up a clash against their arch rivals.

Ghana's Black Princesses beat Nigeria's U20 women's on penalties to win the WAFU U20 Women's Cup months back at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Speaking after winning the semifinal, Basigi is anticipating a tough clash against their West African neighbours.

"Playing Nigeria I know off the pitch we are best friends but on the pitch it is a different game ball altogether.

"We watched them play and they also watched us play. Nigeria would like to avenge the defeat and we also like to consolidate our dominance so it is going to be a cracker. It’s going to be a tough game. At the end of the day we see what happens."

The final is on Thursday night at the Cape Coast Stadium.
