2023 MTN FA Cup: Asante Kotoko beat Benab FC to progress to the next round

Maxwell Agyeman's late goal powered Asante Kotoko to the next round of the competition on Saturday evening. The Porcupine Warriors beat Benad 2-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The reigning Ghana Premier League winners put pressure on Benab FC in the early stages of the game. This pressure paid off in the 17th, Kotoko won a free kick which was swung in beautifully by Morrison the ball found Justice Blay who calmly headed it over the goalkeeper.

Kotoko pushed for a quick second goal but Mukwala and Morrison's efforts could not hit the target.

Benab FC had good moments to score before halftime but Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare was alert to stop the shots.

Kotoko made their first substitution in the 53rd minute, Shadrack Addo replaced Stephen Amankona.

Benab FC equalized in the 70th minute to set up crucial final minutes.

Maxwell Agyeman was the hero for the Porcupine Warriors he scored in added time to send his club through to the next round.
