2023 U-23 AFCON: GFA Vice President calls on Ghanaians to back Meteors at tournament

The Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mark Addo, has called on Ghanaians to support the Black Meteors wholeheartedly as they represent the country at the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.

He believes this will inspire the team to put up their best performance at the tournament, which will be hosted in Morocco, and qualify for next year's Olympic Games.

The team has not qualified for the Olympic Games since 2004, and next year will mark 20 years since Ghana last participated.

Mark Addo acknowledged that qualifying for the Olympic Games would be difficult, but Ghana must be represented.

"We are all behind them, and the whole country has to support them to make Ghana proud," he said at an event attended by footballghana.com.

"It is going to be a challenging tournament, and all the countries will be vying for the three available positions for the Olympics. But Ghana has to be there. As I said, we have one foot in the door, and the second foot needs to follow."
