Ibrahim Tanko is expected to name the final Black Meteors squad for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) later today.
The team on Thursday as part of their preparations played Uncle T United in a friendly at the Ghanaman Soccer of Excellence at Prampram.
The team started preparations for the tournament on May 23, 2023, at Prampram with 22 local-based players. The invited foreign players team up with the rest of the squad this week.
However, Tanko, who is the head coach of the side will officially announce the final squad for the tournament.
The playing body will break from camp today but will return to camp this weekend before the final squad leave for Egypt to continue preparations for the tournament.
The final squad is expected to be a mixture of local and foreign-based players.
Ghana has been drawn in Group A with host nation, Morocco, Guinea and Congo who are both debutants in the tournament.
The tournament will start on June 24, 2023, with the top three earning an automatic spot at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
