Algeria u-23 defender Mehdi Dorval says their performance against Ghana on Friday evening was good but they will fix a few mistakes to get a better result in the second leg.
Mehdi Dorval who plays for Bari in Serie B spoke to journalists after the game against Ghana. The 22-year-old defender was happy with the overall performance of the team.
“Collectively, I think we had a good match, we played collectively, knew how to go against. We will look at our mistakes for the return match. I did a good performance and I hope to continue like that,” he told journalists monitored by Footballghana.com
Dorval also reacted to the support the team got at the stadium and also why he is nicknamed "Marcelo".
“The reception from the public was extraordinary, it made me happy, I was adopted immediately and by a nickname, Marcelo! Probably because I have the same hair as him. I can only thank them and I hope they will be behind us until the end,”
Finally, Dorval said he is optimistic about a positive result in the second leg.
“I have hope for the return match. I hope we go there to win. We need to progress in terms of efficiency, know how to better manage the weak times and the strong times,"
