FC Samartex 1996 head coach Nurudeen Amadu described his team’s 0-0 draw with Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium as a fair outcome but expressed concern over the missed chances.

This match was Samartex’s first game of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, as they look to defend their title.

Amadu noted that although Samartex had a numerical advantage after Dreams FC’s Collins Buah received a second yellow card in the 70th minute, they failed to capitalize on the situation.

He pointed out that having an extra player on the field doesn’t automatically secure a victory.

“Numerical advantage does not mean that you win the game. I will say that it’s a fair reflection, we should have done better as a team in terms of our attacking play and utilizing our chances.

"I think we did have some decent chances more than them but our finishing was poor so that is what we need to be working (on)."

As the reigning Ghana Premier League champions, having won their first-ever title in the 2023/24 season, Samartex will now focus on their upcoming CAF Champions League match.

They will compete against Morocco’s Raja Casablanca in the second round on Sunday, September 15, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
